These Civil War letters were written by Thomas T. Bigbie in East Tennessee and Georgia to his family in Alabama. The majority of letters are to his wife Mary and discuss clothing and food supplies, friends, and relatives also fighting. He briefly mentions battles at Chattanooga, Missionary Ridge, and Dalton.

The Bigbie family resided in Pondtown, Dale County (now Geneva County), Alabama. Thomas T.
